JACK MATTHEWS
Apollo
Jack is currently studying on the degree course in acting at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts.
His theatre credits in Liverpool include: Postmaster Shpekin in 'The Government Inspector' and Felix Humble in 'Humble Boy'. Theatre credits for the Jersey Arts Centre's youtheatre include: The Duke of Bouillon and Livingston in 'The Last Voyage of Philip D'Auvergne', Peter in 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' and Prince Bolo and Mr Sengupta in 'Haroun and the Sea of Stories'.
Jack played young Pyotr in the recent Hall Television film 'Imaginary Summer' and is a founder member of the improvisational theatre company The Purple Circle.
JONNY LIRON
Dionysus
Jonny made his professional acting debut in the Liberation 60 Theatre-in-Education production of 'Secret Weapons' in 2005. He has divided his time between youtheatre productions, thedead theatre company and Theatre-in-Education tours.
His theatre credits include: the title role in 'Gilgamesh', Aslan in 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe', Joey in 'The Homecoming', The Gaoler's Daughter and Alfred-the-Horse in 'The Adventures of Mr Toad', Treplev in 'The Seagull', Hal in 'Loot' and Gulak, the Genie of the Lamp, in 'Aladdin' at The Wilde Theatre, South Hill Park, Christmas 2007.
In 2007, Jonny toured Jersey, Guernsey, Sark and the Ionian Island of Corfu in the first stage adaptation of Gerald Durrell's 'My Family and Other Animals' in which he played Lawrence Durrell, George, Peter, Geronimo (a gecko), Durrant and a greenfly.
JACK SPECKLETON
The Child
Jack's recent theatre credits for the Jersey Arts Centre's youtheatre include: Uta Napishtim in 'Gilgamesh', Mr Butt in 'Haroun and the Sea of Stories', Edmund in 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe', actor in '4.48 Psychosis', the title role in 'The Adventures of Mr Toad', Menelaus in 'The Women of Troy' and Mr Webb in 'Our Town'.
Roles for Samares Productions include: Jacob in 'The Seagull' and Dennis in 'Loot'. Jack also played the role of young Arthur in 'Imaginary Summer' for Hall Television.
Jack has also recently co-directed a Brecht play for 8-13 year olds as part of the Jersey Arts Centre's Junior Drama programme.
SHERI BURT
The Oracle
Sheri trained with the Carousel School of Dancing and at The Arts Educational School, Tring, in ballet, contemporary, jazz and tap.
Her theatre credits with the Jersey Arts Centre's youtheatre include: Cassandra in 'The Women of Troy' and Emily in 'Our Town'.
In September 2008, Sheri takes up a place on the Choreography and Theatre Practices course at Dartington College of Arts, Devon.
DANIEL AUSTIN
Director / Writer
Daniel trained at the Roehampton Institute: Whitelands College (1988), the Welsh College of Music and Drama (1989) and The University of Reading (2000). For the past 20 years he has been employed as an actor, teacher and director.
Daniel has directed over 50 plays from 'My Family and Other Animals' (Jersey Arts Centre) and 'The Wizard of Oz' (The Castle) to an adaptation of Jane Austen's 'Pride and Prejudice' (Northampton Theatres Trust) to 'Aladdin' (South Hill Park). He has also taught A Level English, Theatre Studies and BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts at East Berkshire College and The Henley College. He has lived on a kibbutz in Israel, toured America on the Greyhound Bus, taught at a rural school in Zimbabwe for six months and has toured Bali, Australia and India.
Daniel was the Artistic Director at The Castle, Wellingborough, before being appointed the Director at the Jersey Arts Centre in July 2001 where he now works.
